A few years back, I was living in a small 160 sq.ft. apartment.
That included the living room, bedroom, kitchen and bath. I LOVED my
little place.
The kitchen was basically a few cabinets, sink, stove and fridge on a 8' wall. Not a lot of storage space. BUT it had this "dead-end" wall a few feet wide that was JUST PERFECT for this old semi-antique looking dresser I got at a consignment store for $80.
The dresser is maybe 4 feet high, 2 or 2 1/2 feet wide and 14" deep. It has 5 drawers that worked perfectly for storing all my snack foods, bread, canned food, paper plates etc. as well as my tool drawer. PLUS I was able to utilize the top to hold my microwave that didn't fit on any of my countertop space.
An old dresser is a definate must have in a tiny kitchen...
IF YOU HAVE THE SPACE : )

better then a dresser....
I have always hated dressers. It's so hard to see what's in there, especially at the bottom of each drawer... everythings crammed in so tight.
And if you are like me, your closet seems to be impossible to find things in, even though it's oh-so tiny.
So, on a budget, and with limited space, I was able to purchase these "upper kitchen cabinet" units at IKEA for next to nothing. They are only 12" deep, so they take up very little space, and I hung them a foot or so off the floor so that I have space below them AND they give me great space on top for my knick-knacks.
No drawers to pull out.
All my clothes visible.
Space for pictures and baskets etc.
I LOVE IT!

small space organizer....
It seems I have this knack for organizing and utilizing small spaces. I have always been able to come up with useful ways to use odds and ends in ways most would never imagine...and it just kindof evolved from there.
My father was very handy and innovative. I learned a lot from him when I was very young - even though, at the time I didn¹t know it.
I always love when someone asks "do you have a use for this?" - 'this' usually being some odd little piece of furniture or knick-knack... and my answer is almost always "yes!" I can ALWAYS find something to do with those miscellaneous little 'this' and 'thats'.
ahhhhhh.... If only I had the space.
Since getting a patent is not in my budget, I thought I would share my ideas and discoveries in a blog... so enjoy and feel free to contact me IF you need help to a small space dilemma.
